Spring is here despite the unwelcome snow fall. Spring is a time when everything seem to wake up from it’s long winter sleep. One of the first things I like to do to welcome spring is planting flowers. This year I wanted to do a secret garden for my boys in a hanging planter.
What you will need to make your own secret garden:
- Miniature accessories: I headed to JoAnn Craft store. I found a fairy house and two little boy gnomes. I was able to repurpose my Christmas village miniatures: dog and his house, two deers, brick path, and fence.
- Planter: I got a hanging planter and stand at Home Depot.
- Flowers and soil: It’s still a little early to get a variety of flowers but I only need 3 types. Home Depot had a nice sectional of perennials.
I love getting my boys involved in my project. They named the two gnomes after them, Blake and Logan. They helped me fill the planter with soil and place the miniatures in place. It was messy but worth it because they enjoyed it.
Miniature secret gardens are so cute and capture the essence of spring. They also are wonderful for those who do not have out door space for a garden.
