Christmas Morning 2015

The clam before the storm, 7am gifts are under the tree and the smell of cinnamon apple fill the air as Maurice and I get breakfast ready. Every Christmas morning at our home we have our family over for breakfast and to open gifts. Each year we make a different breakfast food theme. In the past we have made a Dominican breakfast, all American, continental, and a waffle bar. This year we went across the pond to England with a twist to bangers and mash. I made sausages, hash browns, and eggs over easy. Also on the menu were mini individual apple-cranberry pies, a mimosa bar, a hot coco bar, shortbread cookies, vanilla cupcakes, spinach quiche, and mint chocolate bark. It was a simple breakfast but so delicious and filling.

Thanks to Pinterest I made for everyone personalized mugs. Each mug had a packet of hot-coco mix with marshmallows, a candy cane, and a spoon covered in chocolate with sprinkles. I also added handmade personalized ornaments I made out of baking soda and cornstarch. My boys help painted each ornament.

The most wonderful thing about Christmas morning is being surround by family and seeing the smiles on my boys faces as they open gifts. I’m sad that the Christmas season is over, until next year.
