Deck The Halls

Maurice and I are all about Christmas, each year we are so excited to get our home ready. Maurice plans his village, lighting, and helping with set-up. I focus on the theme and design. In resent years we have scaled down because it’s too much work to do with two little boys who get into everything.

Every year we have a different theme. Through the years we have collected a lot of Christmas decorations. You would think we spend a lot of money but I shop all year around on sale, repurpose items, and hand make ornaments.

The Christmas tree has become the main focal point of holiday decorations. It starts with the tree then everything else follows. This years theme revolved around family using a white, gold, and silver color schemes.  I made picture frame out of card stock, printed some family pictures and added glitter. We live near a park and in the spring time you can see the trees full of birds; they sing and fly together. The birds remind me of family so I added gold birds and white owls ornaments. I sprayed some fake white snow on the tree to make it look frosty. The tree topper, snow flake star, is handmade. I made it 9 years ago for our first Christmas as a married couple.  It had green glitter but this year I just cover it with gold and sliver glitter to match the tree.

With some other finishing touches our home became christmasfied. A simple wreath that reveals what you will find inside adds a festive welcome.  In the dinning room buffet I placed a family tree. I also snowed sprayed the mirror and added two frosted glass candle. I adorned our banister with garland and added handmade stockings. I made one for each family member with fabric from JoAnns. I decided to clip all the Christmas cards we receive on the banister. Our nativity has a special place in our home so we can remember that we are celebrating the birth of Christ.

  1. I have been surfing on-line more than three hours nowadays,
but I never discovered any attention-grabbing article like yours.
It is beautiful value enough for me. Personally, if all site
owners and bloggers made just right content as you did, the
internet will be much more helpful than ever before.

  2. Very nice post. I just stumbled upon your weblog and wanted to say that I’ve really enjoyed
