On any given day you will find warm biscuits in my home. They are good at any meal: Breakfast, a plain biscuit with orange marmalade. Lunch, a loaded biscuit with a nice salad. Dinner, a cheesy biscuit with fried chicken. This recipe is so easy and delicious that I’m sure it will become a staple in your home.
Quick Biscuits Three Ways
Ingredients
- Plain Biscuits
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup milk or buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat oven or toaster oven to 450 degrees F
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar and salt. Stir in butter and milk.
- To make cheesy or loaded biscuits just add the needed ingredients.
- With an ice-cream scoop drop batter on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
- Bake until golden on the edges, about 10 minutes.
Notes
Cheesy Biscuits add 1/4 cup cheddar cheese
Loaded Biscuits 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, 3 bacon strips chopped, 1 tsp chives chopped, 1/2 tsp garlic powered.
