Quick Biscuits Three Ways


On any given day you will find warm biscuits in my home. They are good at any meal: Breakfast, a plain biscuit with orange marmalade. Lunch, a loaded biscuit with a nice salad. Dinner, a cheesy biscuit with fried chicken. This recipe is so easy and delicious that I’m sure it will become a staple in your home.

Quick Biscuits Three Ways

Ingredients

  • Plain Biscuits
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven or toaster oven to 450 degrees F
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar and salt. Stir in butter and milk.
  3. To make cheesy or loaded biscuits just add the needed ingredients.
  4. With an ice-cream scoop drop batter on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake until golden on the edges, about 10 minutes.

Notes

Cheesy Biscuits add 1/4 cup cheddar cheese

Loaded Biscuits 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, 3 bacon strips chopped, 1 tsp chives chopped, 1/2 tsp garlic powered.
