The Table is Set

On the eve of Thanksgiving it can be easy to get caught up in the food preparation but let’s not forget that setting the stage (or table) is as important.

It starts with an idea, a color palette, and a theme.  This year I wanted our Thanksgiving to focus on the idea of being thankful.  The thanksgiving tree was the focal point. I settled on a color palette during a trip to Stuart’s Fruit Farm. I found two beautiful pumpkins, one creamy white and the other grayish sage. I used news print to set the theme by making the leaves on the thanksgiving tree and covering a ceramic pumpkin. For the finishing touch I added a beautiful flower arrangement.

Tip: When hosting a dinner party set the table the night before.
